In the open landscape of rural Mallorca, a mineral platform emerges from the ground, creating a new place from which to experience the garden and contemplate the Sierra de Tramuntana.
The base rises from the ground to organise outdoor living. The pool, terraces and different outdoor living areas are arranged upon it, while precise openings allow vegetation to grow through the structure, softening the boundary between architecture and landscape.
With the house already built, the intervention is conceived as an extension of the existing architecture. Rather than adding a pool to the garden, the project proposes a single architectural element that brings together water, vegetation, terraces and landscape into one gesture. Its carefully considered position, set apart from the house, ensures sunlight throughout the day and frames the view towards the Sierra de Tramuntana, where the landscape transforms with the changing light until the final moments of sunset.
The existing terrace of the house is reconfigured to strengthen the continuity between interior and exterior, creating a dialogue between the original construction and the new intervention.
The garden is designed as an extension of the surrounding landscape. Composed exclusively of native, low-water species, it evolves with the passing of the seasons and allows the architecture to integrate naturally into the Mediterranean environment. A mature olive tree accompanies the living and dining area, providing shade and becoming the centre of outdoor life.
